Music, dance and good vibes take over ‘Accra By Night’ tour
The atmosphere at the Accra Tourism Information Centre (ATIC) on Friday, April 24, was nothing short of electric, as patrons gathered for the one-year anniversary edition of the Accra By Night tour.
Long before the bus engines roared to life, excitement had already taken over the venue. While some friends posed for photos, others grabbed snacks while music filled the air and eager patrons prepared for a night of sightseeing, storytelling, music and unforgettable vibes across the capital city.
The tour, an initiative of Ghana Tourism Development Company, with support from Graphic Showbiz is a nightlife experience, giving residents and visitors the chance to rediscover the city after dark.
At exactly 8:14 p.m., the bus rolled out amid cheers and loud sing-alongs as Afrobeats and Amapiano tunes transformed the ride into an instant party on wheels.
As the city lights sparkled through the windows, patrons cruised past landmarks, including the Jubilee House, the Central Business District and the historic streets of Jamestown, with many soaking in stories about Accra’s rich history and cultural heritage for the very first time.

The night came alive even more when musician MzBel joined patrons in dancing on the bus, turning the sightseeing adventure into a full-blown moving concert.
The group also made a stop at the bustling Osu Night Market, where patrons enjoyed local delicacies and explored the lively atmosphere before ending the night at Alley Bar amid music, laughter and nonstop dancing.
For many on board, the experience went beyond tourism.
Jeffrey, a returning patron, described the anniversary edition as the biggest and most exciting yet.
“Today has been the most populated so far since I started coming. There are places many of us have never been to before, so this has been a really nice experience,” he said.
For Lydia, who joined the tour for the first time, the evening offered the perfect escape from the pressures of everyday life.
“It’s been a stressful month for me, so I just want to go out and enjoy myself,” she shared with a smile.
The anniversary celebration also highlighted the growing partnership between Graphic Communications Group Ltd. and the organisers of Accra By Night, a collaboration focused on promoting tourism, culture and authentic Ghanaian storytelling.
Launched in 2025 by the GTDC, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and the Ghana Tourism Authority, Accra By Night was created to promote domestic tourism while repositioning Accra as a vibrant nighttime tourism destination.
Over the past year, the initiative has given patrons the opportunity to experience some of the city’s most iconic sites, including Jamestown Lighthouse, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Osu Night Market among others.
