Music to flow at Save A Heart concert
Music has been used to bolster a variety of causes around the world and it is not surprising that, highlife singer, Kwabena Kwabena, is dwelling on its impact to rally support for his Save A Heart concert scheduled for Saturday, November 22.
The concert, which will be hosted at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel is aimed at raising funds to support patients suffering from heart diseases at the National Cardiothoracic Centre (NCC).
Artistes to support the Aso singer on the night include Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Wutah Afriyie, Samini, Efya and Becca.
She first caught the eye of the public with her singing prowess in 2008 when she came second at the Stars of the Future music reality show and since then, Efya’s wings of music has spread beyond the shores of the country.
Her passion for what she does is quite evident in her energetic performances and it is not surprising that the Cigarette singer continues to amass a large following for her craft.
It is that quality that she is expected to bring on board when she mounts the stage on the night to dish out to patrons, songs from her repertoire such as Best In Me, Little Things, Forgetting Me and One of Your Own, which featured highlife artiste, Bisa Kdei.
It has always been a delight to see some of the old crop of artistes on stage and patrons of the Save A Heart concert will be happy to see Gyedu Blay Ambolley perform alongside some of the young folks.
“I’m happy to give back to society. This is just my little contribution to help those who made me who I am today. I think that heart related diseases have claimed many prominent people this year and the time is now to save those we can and help educate the public more on it,” Kwabena Kwabena told Showbiz in a chat on Monday.
He was particularly delighted at the support he has earned from his fellow artistes since last year and added that, even though he didn’t hit his target of funding the medical bills of 20 patients, he was glad he helped to save the lives of six people.
Kwabena Kwabena, real name, George Kwabena Adu, hinted that he has already began rehearsals with the Shabo Crew band in anticipation of “feeding patrons with great live performances”.
The first Save A Heart concert was held at the Banquet Hall of the State House last year.
