Nat Awuni on higher ground
He was formerly of Uppers International band and was one of the high flying highlife musicisns of the 1980’s but after he was arrested by the Holy Spirit about 13 years ago in the United States during a church retreat, Nat Awuni become a gospel musician and his fourth album Higher Grounds sings of his story.

Higher Grounds album is made up of pure worship and praises songs. It consists of 11 songs rendered in English and Twi dialects. It was written and arranged by Nat Awuni and produced by Whopraise Worship.
Some of the songs on the album are I’ve Come To Worship You, Woye Me Gyefo, You Are Faithful, How Wonderful, Jesus Is The Answer, Higher Grounds, Nobody like Jesus and Have Your Way Lord.
The songs on the album are such that, they can be enjoyed anytime of the day. They emphasise the goodness of God and the promises He has made to His children that whatever good thing He begins with them, He will bring to a perfect end.
Speaking to Nat on the title of the album he said; “it is higher grounds because, it speaks of what God has in store for me, in terms of His promises ever since I was called into the Gospel Ministry. Some I have seen manifest in my life so it is just prudent that, I tell people of the wonders of God and greater things that He has in store for me.
“I am very particular about the lyrics so I took my time and worked on this album. This is because, I believe words are very powerful, lyrics are the most vital parts of music and it speaks into the lives of people so is always right to speak good things into the life of others.”
Touching on his encounter with the Lord, he said, “during my stay in the UK about 18 years ago, I followed a friend to his baby naming ceremony in church one day and made other friends who later invited me to a retreat a church was organising and when I got there, the message touched me and that point was when I gave my life to Christ.
The 54-year old musician who also used to be a member of Western Diamonds Band, has three albums to his credit namely, Lord I Love You, Charity Never Fails and Thank You Lord.
