Netizens descend on Zapp Mallet for asking sing-a-thon lady to stop since singing is for the strong
Renowned music producer, Zapp Mallet has not had it easy on social media since yesterday following a suggestion for Afua Asantewaa, to stop her attempt at breaking the record of the longest singing marathon by an individual.
Perhaps, as an experienced music producer, Zapp Mallet had noticed Afua was losing her voice and decided to find solution for the problem by asking her to get something heavy to eat since singing wasn’t for the weak.

In a series of posts on X, Zapp Mallet insinuated that Afua’s ambition was beyond her prowess since achieving such feats was typically reserved for individuals with defined singing capability, noting that Afua Asantewaa is taking on more than she can handle.
Afua Asantewaa has currently set her sights on surpassing the current record-holder, Indian singer Sunil Waghmare, who achieved a remarkable 105-hour singing marathon in 2012 and she aims to etch her name into the Guinness World Records by exceeding Waghmare's 102-hour mark.
“Even professional singers won't attempt a feat like this without a voice coach around to be coaching what to do. No strategy. Just play, I will sing. I feel for Afua paa."
“Herrhh! Find some heavy to eat. Singing is for the strong. Don't let deceive you. Now you see you can't even hit key? So so off key. All bcos you tire. Smh.
"Where are our "famed" voice coaches? The girl is damn tired and she's losing her voice. Won't somebody show her how revamp it? With the way she's singing? Smh,” he wrote.
However, it appears his comments infuriated a number of netizens who continue to express disappointment at him for his discouraging posture, with some dragging him to the cleaners.

For such critics, Zapp Mallet is an influential and experienced music producer whose in-depth knowledge will be needed and not for him to be pessimistic.
US based Ghanaian gospel musician, Sonnie Badu also commented.
“Uncle zapp, please, I beg let’s support her… It is a record she is trying to set.. You don’t need to be professional to do this… She has a very sharp memory, and she can remember every single song back to back…. Please commend her for that … I love you my legend .. I come in love Uncle .. I beg, I come in love …
Go ! Go!! Go!! @afuaasantewaasingathon don’t look back @guinnessworldrecords - here we come .. As for me, I couldn’t do this … Chai!!!,” he said.
