“I have been dreaming about this since 2016 when I was in senior high school, and I worked towards it. What this (her win) shows is that if you want something and you work hard at it, you will get it,” she told fellow congregants at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) - Teshie, on Sunday,18 November, 2023 during a thanksgiving service to honour God and celebrate her win.
Queen Selorm is an active member of EPCG Teshie congregation. She was returning to her church for the first time since winning the GMB title last month. She was welcomed with songs from the EPC hymnal and with traditional agbadza music and dance.
In her address, she thanked the church leadership and the entire congregation for their support and prayers throughout the contest.
“No amount of ‘thank yous’ will be enough for what God has done for me. I am grateful to God first, and to all of you. Please continue to support me in prayers and in any other ways you can.
“I want to use this platform to thank God and to execute my project. We have a lot of deprived basic schools on the islands in the Volta Region. They don’t have educational materials, so my focus is on the islands in the region”‘, she added.
Her project dubbed ‘Say Yes to Education’ is focused on providing teaching and learning materials to schools on islands in the Volta Region. Queen Selorm is also taking part in other projects aimed at educating children on sexual rites, and women’s empowerment.

The 2023 GMB reigning queen dedicated her win to her late mother. “She would have been here today. She has watched GMB every year, but she wasn’t around to watch me. God knows best. I believe where ever she is, she is watching over me”, she added.
The District Pastor of EPCG Teshie, Rev. Richard K. Nimo, led the congregation to pray for Selorm. He urged her to be the light where ever she goes and to shine for young people to follow her example.
