People Choice Awards unveils nominees
Organisers of the People’s Choice Awards, Spyder Lee Entertainment, have announced the list of nominees for the maiden awards at a press conference held at the Coconut Groove hotel in Accra last Thursday.

Well known personalities including Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Samini, Becca, Efya, Daddy Lumba, James Gardiner, Majid Michel, John Dumelo, KSM, Funny Face, Joselyn Dumas and Afia Schwarznegger had nomination in the various categories.
The others were Bukom Banku, Asamoah Gyan, Martha Bissa, Tutulapato, Frankie Taylor, Patrick Osei Agyeman, Bola Ray, Martha Bissah, Kwadwo Nkansah (Lil’ Win) and Kwaku Manu.
TV3 had the highest nominees in the categories of People’s Choice Awards for Female and Male TV Presenters with six nods, followed by GH One TV with five and Viasat 1 with two. GTV, Metro TV, ATV and Adom TV had one nomination each.
Francis Doku and Ebenezer Annangfio, columnists with Graphic Showbiz, had nominations in the Entertainment Journalist/Writer categories.
In all, there are 15 categories for the People’s Choice Awards. They are the People Choice Awards category for Male Musician, Female Musician, Male Actor, Female Actor, Movie, Child Star, Song, Male Sports Personality, and Female Sports Personality.
The others are Female Sports Personality, Comedian, Entertainment Journalist/Writer, Male Radio Presenter, Female Radio Presenter, Male TV Presenter and Female TV Presenter categories.
The Chief Executive Officer of Spyder Lee Entertainment, Mr Edwin Edinkrah, officially unveiled the new title of the awards as GN Bank People’s Choice Awards to reflect the brand of the sponsors.

Launched last year, the People’s Choice Awards is an annual awards ceremony to celebrate the works of Ghanaian showbiz personalities in the year under review.
Mr Edinkrah urged the general public to participate in the GN Bank Text And Win Contest to earn them interesting packages including a cash prize of GH¢500 and a VVIP ticket to the main awards night on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Members of the public can vote for their nominated celebrities by texting CH plus their names to the short code 1466 on Vodafone, MTN, and Airtel. Deadline for voting is Saturday, March 14, 2015.
