Producer Nabeyin tells GH acts ‘move out of your comfort zone’
GHANAIAN international music producer Edgar Nabeyin Panford has called on Ghanaian musicians to move out of their comfort zone if they want to make it globally.
To Nabeyin as he is popularly known, our musicians are too comfortable in Ghana and are not prepared to work with international music producers.
“I have done beats and sent it to certain artistes in Ghana but they never showed any interest. I know the beats that can easily cross over there because I live there and roll with almost all the top musicians in America but our artistes in Ghana are too comfortable and is about time they changed their attitude”

“Three years ago, I made my cousin who lives in Ghana personally send beats to some musicians that I feel are doing well in Ghana but they never responded. I am that person who would give an opportunity and if you miss it, that’s it” he told Graphic Showbiz in an interview on Monday, June 20, 2022.
Asked whether he has given up on our musicians, the Grammy nominated music producer who has worked with international musicians such as Nas, The Game, Miguel, Isaiah Rashad, Reason, Dave East, Nav, Boogie, G Perico among others said he just reached out to Quamina MP and Rocky Dawuni and they are working on something.
Nabeyin’s distinctive keys and melodies laid the foundation for Drake’s Nothings Into Somethings off his More Life album (2017) to Kanye West’s Heaven or Hell off his Donda album (2021).
The multi-platinum music producer from San Bernardino, CA but of Ghanaian origins explained that the reason Nigerians and other African countries are ahead of us when it comes to music is because they employ the services of top American music producers to work with them.
“Rema and Burna Boy from Nigerian have four top American music producers working on just an album for them and that should tell you how far they want to go.
"I am not saying our music producers are not good but when your beats sounds similar to theirs, they pay attention to you easily. I have worked with them and I know what I am talking about” he added.
