LOVE, laughter, suspicion and a dangerous game of deception take centre stage at the National Theatre on Friday, September 4, as Roverman Productions celebrate 18 years of theatrical excellence with its latest offering, Honey Trap.
Honey Trap, the 66th production from the theatre company opens to a packed auditorium, with patrons laughing, gasping and reacting enthusiastically as the drama unfolds.
Written and directed by veteran playwright James Ebo Whyte, popularly known as Uncle Ebo Whyte, Honey Trap tells the story of James, a wealthy and successful businessman who believes he has found love again.
His happiness is however short-lived when his ex-wife, Gail, raises an alarm.
Knowing James well enough to recognise the danger signs, Gail warns him that the woman he is falling for may not be who she appears to be. James, however, is determined to pursue happiness, sets the stage for a rollercoaster of romance, suspicion, humour and suspense.
As the story progresses, the packed hall become almost another character in the play, with patrons freely expressing their amusement, surprise and disbelief at the twists and turns.

In addition to giving patrons a treat with Honey Trap, for Roverman Productions, the play, is also a celebration of a remarkable 18-year journey that has seen the company become a household name in Ghana.
Uncle Ebo Whyte was visibly appreciative of the support, thanking patrons for keeping the Roverman dream alive.
“I am very honoured by everyone who came. 18 years is a long journey, and we are grateful for the love,” he said.
He added that the full house and lively response from the audience made the anniversary celebration even more memorable.
