Swiss-based Ghanaian musician Seley expresses concerns over sexual demands in Ghana's music industry
A Ghanaian female musician based in Switzerland, Seley, has expressed her concerns over the excessive demands for sexual favours in the music industry when female artists aim to promote their craft.
Seley, who is currently promoting her latest single "Problem," recently visited Ghana to establish herself in the local music industry, but says she was shocked by the level of sexual demands made by many producers and other male industry players.

According to her, this phenomenon is a worrying trend for talented female artists who aspire to pursue a successful career in the industry. During her stay in Ghana, she encountered producers who were not interested in her talent or how to develop it, but rather made sexual demands.
Seley believes that addressing this major problem is crucial to creating a more equitable and fair industry for female artists.
"All these guys and producers just want sex. They are not interested in your talent or they don't see your worth as a woman, they just see punani," she said.
Despite the setbacks, she remains determined to pursue her music career and is currently working on various musical projects.
