Tang Palace marks 10th anniversary with Countryside Welfare Home

It was a joyous moment for inmates of Countryside Welfare Home in the Bawjiase, Central Region, when some staff of Tang Palace Hotel in the company of organisers and contestants of Miss Tourism Ghana made a presentation on Thursday, August 28.

The donation is part of Tang Palace’s commitment towards corporate social responsibility to give back to a country that has warmly embraced its operations in the last 10 years.

Tang Palace, a sponsor of this year’s Ghana Tourism Ghana pageant, presented drinks, toiletries, food stuff and an undisclosed amount of money to the orphanage.

The children welcomed the team with songs, smiles, and lots of love. To make the day memorable, the hotel staff treated them to a rich spread of Ghanaian favourite dishes. Refreshing drinks and biscuits added to the delight of the occasion.

The Executive Manager for Sales, Marketing & Business Development, Ms Jane Gyimah-Amoako, expressed the hotel’s commitment to supporting the home, assuring the children and staff that Tang Palace would continue to stand by them.

In a media engagement later after the donation, Ms Gyimah-Amoako encouraged corporate bodies to extend support to orphanages.

“I know corporate bodies mostly look out for mutual beneficial relationship by supporting events or entities that have the platform to promote their brand. But sometimes, we need to look at the less privileged and offer a lending hand.

“We saw the smiles on the faces of the children, showing the depth of impact this visit has had on their mental health. I’m glad Tang Palace took this initiative to mark our 10th anniversary and we are looking forward to reciprocate the gesture in other orphanage homes,” he said.

Delphine Brew-Hammond, the brainchild of Miss Tourism Ghana, said the donation was equally to shape the mindset of the contestants to appreciate giving back to the society.

“Miss Tourism Ghana is not just about beauty, it is about grooming our girls to be relevant and that relevance comes with the impact you make in society,” she said.
