Musician Article Wan has pushed back against claims that his music career is losing steam, insisting that he is still working and has no intention of accepting the narrative that he has fallen off.
Speaking on the 3FM Blocparty Show, sighted by Graphic Showbiz, the “Solo” hitmaker said he was unfazed by people who believe his career has taken a downturn.
“I have not fallen, but if you feel like I’ve fallen, it’s your feeling. I am working. The moment they feel like you have fallen, they start telling you a lot of things.
A close friend of mine told me I will never blow again. I laughed and told the person, ‘It is what you think, but I don’t accept it”, he said.
Article Wan said he was not prepared to let negative comments about his career shape his outlook or determine his future in music.
According to him, people can be affected by what they are told when they choose to believe it, but he has deliberately refused to allow such opinions to get into his head.
“If someone tells you something and you accept it and believe in it, it can work on you, but not me. Watch out for me,” he said.
The musician also spoke about the inspiration behind his music, explaining that although his songs are often classified as secular or “circular” music, he sees his work as an expression of his faith.
“I am working for God. They call the kind of songs I do circular music, but to me, I’m doing the word of God.
No voodoo can give you the kind of talent I have,” he added.
