‘We’ve been thro hell’ - Kwaw Kese

The first and perhaps the only public statement that embattled rapper, Kwaw Kese, has made since his release on bail after spending 25 days behind bars appeared on his twitter page and it read, "We been thru hell so Heaven is a place for us to dwell !!!”

Kwaw Kese may have been referring to the difficult conditions he met in prison cells and may be looking at the bail which was finally granted after being refused three times, as God sent.

Indeed, it was reported by ghanaweb.com that Kwaw Kese made his first public appearance at the Presbyterian Church on KNUST campus,  where he joined the congregation for a Watchnight Service on 31st December to usher in the New Year.

It was reported that Kwaw Kese was looking rather subdued and he was spotted without his iconic dreadlocks hairstyle that his many fans have become accustomed to.

Real name, Emmanuel Botchway, Kwaw Kese was arrested on November 23 for allegedly smoking a substance suspected to be Indian hemp in public, at a popular pup in Kumasi after performing at the Luv FM’s Old Skuul Reunion event.

Various attempts to secure bail for the incarcerated artiste, which included a social media campaign by fellow celebrities, proved unsuccessful and the case kept being adjourned by the Kumasi Circuit Court.

Kwaw Kese was later taken ill on December 24, complaining of stomach complications and was taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He was once again taken ill and sent to hospital.

He was eventually granted bail on health grounds and is expected to appear in court on February 5.
