The play, What Can Come Can Come shows tomorrow, Friday, May 22, at 8 pm at the National Theatre and Saturday, May 23, at 4 pm and 8 pm at the same venue.

Amidst the rhetorics of terms such as“yen tie obiaa” and “dead goat syndrome”, which have entered Ghanaian conversations, the play, What Can Come Can Come seeks to portray the role such words play in the Ghanaian culture as well as family settings.

What Can Come Can Come by Abubaka which is supported by Globe Productions in partnership with National Theatre, Graphic Showbiz and Citi FM is a hilarious family play.

In the play, Frank, a poor unemployed graduate grows up not knowing who his father is. Anytime he enquires about his father, his mother’s response is, “Your father is dead, not exactly dead but dead”.

Now an adult, Frank meets and falls in love with the daughter of  Mr. Arthur, a man whose “yentie obiaa” attitude leads to an early retirement and a drain on his family’s finances.  Mr. Arthur wants his daughter to marry an egoistic proud man, instead of Frank.

Does Efua give in to the rich man and her dad’s pressure or does she choose to marry Frank? How does the story of Frank’s father being “dead, dead, not exactly dead but dead” unfold?

To find answers to these questions and more, make a date with  What Can Come Can Come which features Clement Ashitey  a.k.a Sarkodie, Prince Amoabeng a.k.a General Ntatia, Ecow Smith-Asante and Poka, Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2013.

What Can Come Can Come is sponsored by Carnival Strawberry and supported by Lenon, Eco Spa and Blue Skies.
