Who is Stonebwoy talking about? Cryptic ‘fake friends’ post sparks frenzy
Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has once again set social media buzzing after sharing a cryptic message many believe is targeted at some key figures within the music industry.
The Burniton Music boss stirred conversations on Saturday, May 30, when he posted a thought-provoking message on X, formerly Twitter.
“These 2 guys have been faking to each other based on interests and timing. Convenient friendship. Even the devil hates that,” he wrote.
Although Stonebwoy did not mention any names, the post immediately triggered widespread speculation among fans and entertainment enthusiasts, with many attempting to decode the identities of the two individuals referenced.
Some social media users have linked the comment to fellow musicians Shatta Wale and Sarkodie, especially following recent discussions about unity among top Ghanaian artistes.
The speculation gained further momentum after Shatta Wale, in a recent interview with media personality Bola Ray, stressed the importance of collaboration and unity among himself, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy to help push Ghanaian music onto the global stage.
Adding to the intrigue, both Shatta Wale and Sarkodie reportedly made surprise appearances at rapper Kwaku Smoke’s show in London just hours before Stonebwoy’s post surfaced online, leading some fans to believe the timing of the message may not have been coincidental.
As expected, the post generated mixed reactions, with some fans defending the artiste’s right to express his views while others questioned the motive behind the statement.
This is not the first time Stonebwoy has attracted attention with cryptic comments. Earlier this year, he sparked debate when he compared his rivalry with Shatta Wale to the long-standing competition between football giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, insisting that the two sides could never be the same.
