Vehicle theft: Seven suspects arrested in Eastern Region
The Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) of the police has arrested seven suspects in connection with the stealing of three unregistered Hyundai Elantra and Sonata vehicles.
The unregistered blue Hyundai Elantra was stolen from the owner at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region on May 25, 2026.
The police after the complaint tracked the stolen vehicle to a hideout at Roman Down at Asamankese in the Eastern Region.
The team collaborated with the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) Detachment in the area and subsequently arrested the suspects and retrieved two other stolen vehicles in their possession.
The suspects arrested are: Acheampong Otuo Kofi alias Levels (28 years), Kpachen Ebenezer (26 years), Fianko Isaac also known as Yaw (35 years), Besah Elizabeth (24 years), David Kudalor (28 years), Enoch Acheampong (38 years), and Solomon Odei (35 years).
Ongoing investigations
All seven suspects are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations, while the three vehicles have been impounded by the police. Efforts are underway to recover more stolen vehicles that may be in the possession of the group.
