Accra: Man who stabbed firefighter during Adjiringanor blaze remanded
Sampson Azumah, the 21-year-old man who stabbed a firefighter during efforts to contain a fire that ravaged an eight-room, one-storey building at Adjiringanor near Ability Square in Greater Accra last Friday [Nov 14], has been remanded into police custody by the Achimota Circuit Court.
Azumah, who has been charged with causing unlawful harm, pleaded not guilty.
He is expected to reappear in court on December 3, 2025. The prosecution opposed bail, arguing that Azumah had no fixed place of abode and was therefore unlikely to appear for trial if released.

Court of Appeal frees Assemblyman in Major Mahama murder case
“We are sad about the death of Major Maxwell Mahama but we have sworn a judicial oaths and justice demands more than public sentiments,” Justice Dr Ernest Owusu-Dapaah said when he read his elaborate decision which agreed with Justice Christopher Archer’s main judgment that quashed the conviction and life imprisonment sentence of William Baah, who was jailed in January last year for abetting the murder of the young military man.

Frank Davies, counsel for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, says his client remains committed to fulfilling his civic obligations but has not been served with any court summons, despite the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) announcing a court date for the high-profile corruption case.
