FIFA introduces $60 ticket tier for fans of qualified teams at 2026 FIFA World Cup

FIFA has introduced a new ticket pricing category aimed at making the 2026 FIFA World Cup more accessible to fans of qualified national teams, as global demand for tickets continues to surge.

The world football governing body confirmed that the newly created Supporter Entry Tier will be priced at a fixed USD 60 per ticket and will be available for all 104 matches of the expanded tournament, including the final. The initiative is intended to support fans travelling to follow their national teams across host venues in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

According to FIFA, the tickets under the new tier will be reserved exclusively for supporters of countries that have qualified for the tournament. The allocation, selection and distribution of the tickets will be managed by the Participating Member Associations, which will each define their own eligibility criteria and application processes. FIFA said the associations are expected to ensure that the tickets are allocated to loyal supporters who are closely connected to their national teams.

Under the revised structure, 50 per cent of each Participating Member Association allocation will fall within the most affordable ticket categories. This includes the Supporter Value Tier, which accounts for 40 per cent, and the newly introduced Supporter Entry Tier, which makes up 10 per cent. The remaining half of the allocation will be shared equally between the Supporter Standard Tier and the Supporter Premier Tier.

FIFA also announced additional relief for fans whose teams fail to progress in the competition. Supporters who apply for tickets through their national associations and whose teams do not reach the knockout stage will have the administrative fee waived when refunds are processed for unsuccessful applications.

The announcement comes against the backdrop of unprecedented demand for tickets to the 2026 tournament. FIFA said the current random selection draw sales phase has already recorded 20 million ticket requests since opening on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Interest has continued to grow following the release of the full match schedule, venues and kick-off times for the tournament, which will run from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, July 19, 2026.

The random selection draw ticketing phase remains open until Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 11:00 ET. FIFA clarified that the timing of a ticket request within the application window does not affect the chances of success. Fans have been encouraged to submit applications and access full ticketing information through the official FIFA website.

FIFA reiterated that, as a not for profit organisation, revenue generated from the World Cup is reinvested into the development of football globally. The body said it expects to reinvest more than 90 per cent of its budgeted investments for the 2023 to 2026 cycle into men’s, women’s and youth football across its 211 member associations.
