Ghanaian delegation in Seoul for one-week training

A 14-member Ghanaian delegation has arrived in Korea to learn of the Korean development experience and how it can be beneficial to Ghana.

The one-week training programme dubbed "High level strategy for economic development" is being organised by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Seoul.

Among other issues, the delegation will learn about the tourism industry, agriculture, small and medium-scale businesses and health in Korea. 

The delegation comprises the chief directors or representatives of ministries, including Finance, Youth and Sports, Health, Defence, Chieftaincy, Communication, as well as the Civil Service.

The relations between Ghana and Korea  have grown steadily since the two countries first established diplomatic relations in 1977. 

Korea was a poor country, with a struggling economy, in the 70s,  but has now succeeded in becoming one of the biggest economies in the world.

How Korea was able to turn its development around will be the focus of training programme for the Ghanaian delegation.
