Nungua SHS marks 34th milestone

The Nungua Senior High School has celebrated its 34th anniversary with a resolve to continue to assist students to uphold discipline in the school at all times.

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Cecilia Asabea Boateng, who was speaking at the Speech and Prize-giving Day of the school, noted that discipline had been the hallmark of the school.

“We consider discipline as the hallmark of our success hence our insistence on enforcing it,” she said.

The 34th anniversary, which coincided with the Speech and Prize-giving Day was on the theme: “Promoting quality education through community participation, our example, our future.”

She thanked the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school for their tireless efforts in moulding the character of the students in their care.

The Managing Director of SIC, Mr Ashidan Mensah, said there was the need to create a serene environment for effective teaching and learning in schools.

He advised the students to spend enough time on their studies and avoid cheating during examinations.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, also encouraged the students to study.

Some students, teaching and non-teaching staff who distinguished themselves in various fields were awarded prizes.
