Next Gospel Star Season 5 finale is here!

After weeks of working hard at lyrics and melodies that seek to uplift and encourage fellow believers in the Christian faith, the seven finalists in the Next Gospel Star Season 5 contest are set for the ultimate showdown tomorrow, December 15, at the National Theatre.

Those seeking to clinch the first prize of a car, GH₵10,000 and a recording contract are Elikem, Helina, Selby Ann, Doathess, Lady C, Millian and Kofi Kodie. The first and second runners-up will receive GH₵7000 and GH₵5000 respectively. 

Organised by Joe Osae’s Ceejay Multimedia, the Next Gospel Star contest seeks to discover an act that understands the essence of gospel music and is able to convey it adequately to patrons.  

“There have been some exciting, spirit-filled moments in the course of the contest. We thank God for the momentum that has driven us from the start till now.  

The contestants have displayed wonderful abilities and are serious about making positive impact on the music scene here and beyond. We wish them the best,” the Ceejay Multimedia boss said.

As a way of helping to extract the best out of the contenders, he took them along to some places of interest, including Dodi World at Akosombo for a cruise on Dodi Princess to Dodi Island, to relax and sharpen their focus on the contest.  

Now that the seven finalists have proved what they are capable of, it is up to the three judges on the final night-   Dr Alfred Addaquay, Dr Ben Amakye Boateng and Mr Chris Appau- to sift through and  come up with a worthy ‘champion.’ The show is hosted by Psalm One.

So as shouts of ‘Hallelujah,’ ‘Praise the Lord’ and  ‘Jesus is Lord’ echo across the National Theatre from 7.00 pm on Sunday, December 15, everyone would be looking forward to  an edifying and entertaining finale  to the Next Gospel Star Season 5.
