Nick’s Vocational Institute unveils STEAM-related lab for children on autism spectrum
Sena Kumapley, a resource person in Engineering Management, taking some parents and guests through how children on the autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can use suitable computerised game-based solutions to enhance their cognition indexes during the inauguration of Nick’s Vocational Institute in Accra.
The institute, which also has a music, art and craft sections, is part of Haven International, an institution that provides training opportunities for teachers, healthcare providers, parents, caregivers, and facilitators in the area of autism.

Ms Kumapley believes that when children with ASD engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), they can discover a love of learning that stays with them for years. “A love of STEAM can also encourage autistic children and teens to continue their education when they might have otherwise given up.”
