There was so much to eat and drink with packages sponsored by Onga, Cheezzy Pizza and Akosombo Hotel who were also partners. SS Wellness Spa & Salon also presented coupons for a spa treatment to all the mothers who came on board.

In all, 30 mothers were bused from Accra to join others at Akosombo to embark on a five-hour cruising section amidst live band music, barbeques, onboard games, karaoke and other outdoor games that had a lot of children participating.

The ticketed Mother’s Day event which was organised by The Mirror was simply filled with lots of surprises. The cruise which was initially billed for Dodi Island was changed to a different destination on the Volta Lake called The Float another beautiful and serene island that overlooks nature.

With smooth navigation by Captain Johnson Gariba, the Dodi Princess II landed on the island where the mothers stayed for about three hours to have a buffet lunch prepared by the Akosombo Hotel with live band music by the Kings Anchor.

Indeed, there was never a dull moment as mothers and their children took the opportunity to bond and make merry.

The icing on the cake was the lucky dip segment where some mothers won blenders, rice cookers and bowls all sponsored by Onga. Besides, every mother went home with a bag filled with assorted products.
