Alpha Beta receives seven academic excellence awards
Alpha Beta Christian College was won seven awards out of 23 for academic excellence at the British Council Partner Schools Global Network (PSGN) Awards Night at the National Theatre in Accra on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
The event was attended by the British High Commissioner, Mr Iain Walker; Country Director of British Council, Mr. Alan Rutt; West African Manager for Cambridge, Mrs Afua Asiedu, and directors, principals, staff, and students from the over fifty member schools.
Eric Owuraku Asare from Alpha Beta Christian College who achieved A star in all nine subjects for IGCSE was awarded Best Overall Student amongst the British Council Partner schools.

Mr Asare was also awarded the Best IGCSE student for IGCSE Biology, Chemistry and ICT. Another Student, Theodore Quasson Bailey received an Outstanding A Level student award for Biology.
Alpha Beta Christian College also received a Star Performer Award for being the best school in Biology, Chemistry and ICT. Alpha Beta’s biggest award for the evening was British Council’s Best Overall IGCSE School for 2019.
This was the ninth year of these awards ceremonies and Alpha Beta Christian College has won such awards in 2011, 2014, and 2016 for A level and IGCSE academic excellence.
The Management of the school attributes the incredible performance by its IGCSE students this year to the Adinkrahene Leadership Program which begun in 2014 with this batch of IGCSE students being it’s first cohort.
The director of the program – Dr. Naomi Adjepong said ‘The Adinkrahene Leadership Program is a unique program run by Alpha Beta Christian College which seeks to consciously develop confident, creative and competent African leaders for the 21st century. The program runs alongside the Cambridge International Examination (CIE) curriculum to ensure that students gain the inspiration, knowledge, exposure and skills they need to succeed.’
