10 dead in Nkawkaw crash
Ten passengers died on the spot when a Kumasi-bound bus on which they were travelling from Accra collided with a trailer at a spot near Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region early yesterday.
Thirty other passengers are in critical condition, after sustaining various degrees of injury, and are on admission at the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw.

Meanwhile, 14 of the accident victims who sustained minor injuries have been treated and discharged.
According to the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mr Ebenezer Tetteh, the police received an emergency call about 1:30 a.m. that there had been an accident between Abepotia and Asona, two communities near Nkawkaw.
Collision
He said preliminary investigations indicated that the Yutong bus, with registration number GN 2212-12, was travelling from Accra to Kumasi, while the trailer, with registration number ER 917-A, was from Kumasi to Accra.
Mr Tetteh explained that the Yutong bus veered from its lane into that of the trailer, leading to the collision.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Yutong bus, Mr Emmanuel Adofo, 40, has been arrested, while the driver of the trailer is on the run.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Nkawkaw Hospital for preservation, identification and collection.
