Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Ghana Broadcasting Corporations (GBC), TV3 Network, TV Africa and Metro TV were honoured for their role as media partners of the awards night organised by the Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah African Genius Awards.

The other sponsors were Innolink Security Printers, Stanbic Bank, Zenith Bank and Bank of Africa.

The African Genius Awards were organised at the National Theatre last December at which 24 Ghanaians were honoured for coming out with works which have become national and international references.

Those awarded included Aveh Kludze, the first African to command a space craft in orbit.

At the appreciation ceremony, Mr Kojo Yankah, chairman of the board of governors of the awards scheme, said the time had come for Africans to appreciate their own in science and technology, the arts and culture.
