Speaking at the launch of the event, the Vice President of Imani Ghana, Mr Kofi Bentil, said private schools played a crucial role in education, and as such, they must not compromise on quality.

“You cannot in pursuit of your dream and profit, put students’ lives at risk by opting for substandard materials” he stated.

Organised by Digital Education Group (DEG) and Spearhead Consult, the programme, which is the 12th edition, was on the theme “Effective Edu-preneurship”, and was attended by representatives from 150 private schools in the country.

Mr Bentil further advised private school owners to build standards in their schools, based on the right management strategies adding that teachers must be paid good salaries to motivate them to work hard so that parents would get value for the fees that they paid.
“You won’t get rich by cheating your teachers, because they are essential to your marketing strategy. If they are unhappy, they can derail your school’s growth,” he said.

Entrepreneurs

For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of DEG, Mr George Sackey, said there was the need for school owners to think as entrepreneurs in order to equip themselves with relevant knowledge resources and tools that would help them to run their schools effectively.
