19 to now face trial for murder of Major Mahama
The Accra Central District Court on Thursday discharged 13 persons said to have been involved in the lynching of Major Maxwell Mahama.
The 13 were part of the initial 32 accused persons.

The remaining 19 will now face trial on charges of murder and conspiracy to murder.
The 13 were discharged on Thursday following a request by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr George Amegah that the prosecution intends to use those them as witnesses in the case.
Meanwhile 14 other suspects, who are at large, have also been charged for the murder of the military officer.
Graphic Online's Emmanuel Ebo Hawkson reported that at the hearing Thursday, lawyer for five of the accused persons, Mr George Bernard Shaw, prayed the court to impress on the prosecution to give a timetable on how it intends to proceed with the case.
The court adjourned the case to July 19, 2017 and remanded the 19 into police custody
