26 victims freed as EOCO cracks down on human trafficking syndicate

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has rescued 26 victims of human trafficking following a coordinated operation on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Codenamed Operation Quest, the raid was conducted by EOCO’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit in collaboration with QNET, a global wellness and lifestyle company.

The early morning swoop, carried out around 10:30 a.m., led to the arrest of nine suspects — two Ivorians and seven Ghanaians. The victims, made up of 10 Ivorians and 16 Ghanaians, were reportedly trafficked under the guise of lucrative job offers linked to QNET.

According to EOCO, the victims were deceived with promises of well-paying jobs both in Ghana and abroad by individuals impersonating QNET agents.

The agency clarified that the suspects had no official affiliation with QNET and were exploiting the company’s name and reputation to perpetuate their fraudulent scheme.

EOCO says investigations are ongoing to dismantle the wider trafficking network and bring all perpetrators to justice.
