The Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Mohammed Adjei Sowah has been elected, along with the Mayors of several other cities, to be Vice-Chairs of the C40 Cities.
The others elected Vice-Chairs of C40 Cities are the mayors of Dhaka South, Bangladesh; Medellín, Colombia; Nanjing, China; and Quito, Ecuador.
Their election gives the cities a seat on the C40 Steering Committee, which provides strategic direction for the global network of 96 cities committed to take bold climate action and clean the air we breathe.
