Achimota March Medal makes history

The Easter edition of the Achimota Fan Milk Monthly Medal for March entered the club’s history as the highest signings.

An impressive entry of 91 golfers participated in the 18-hole competition which saw Kusi Boateng winning the March men’s Group A ultimate prize after recording a 70 net.

Daniel Abodi Klenn, 71 net, followed in second position after beating Bin Tang on count-back.

A respectable score of 62 net saw Eric Gene emerging winner in the men’s Group B category, while Sir Sam Jonah and Yaw Tenkorang Yebaoh trailed with 65 and 66 scores respectively.

In-form Chritine Furler dominated the ladies event with a 71 net, with Elizabeth Aku Yaba 73 net, and Lady Captain Peace Akwei, 74 net, following.

Godwin Sai came first in the pros event after a gross score of 70, beating A. Gbenyo by just a stroke, while veteran Emos Korblah finished in third place with 66 net.

However, Young Soon Yu left the course as the ladies guest player winner.

The vice captain of the club, Mark Coffie, lauded golfers for the massive turnout and hinted that the club was planning to encourage family participation henceforth.
