Known in private life as Mr Ken Addy, the late chief was a retired employee of the Ghana Water Company Limited.

Enstooled on July 28, 1998, the chief embarked on a number of initiatives aimed at giving Adabraka a facelift.

As a chief who was concerned with the welfare of his people, Nii Adjabeng was committed to mobilising resources from industrial concerns operating in Adabraka for the overall development of the Adabraka community.

It was not surprising, therefore, that when the Graphic Communications Group Limited teamed up with the Merchant Bank in 2004 to undertake a joint community social responsibility (CSR) programme in Adabraka and approached him, he wholeheartedly embraced it.

Since Saturday, July 9, 2005 when the maiden event was held, the free health screening exercise has been held annually to herald activities marking the annual Homowo festival of the chiefs and people of the Adabraka Otuopai traditional area.

The event has for the past five years been sponsored by the Graphic Communications Group and Accra Brewery Limited.

He would be remembered for his sterling leadership qualities, love for his people and patriotism.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
