AGI launches mobile application

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has introduced a mobile application dubbed “AGI Ghana App” to enable particularly members of the AGI, as well as non-members, to participate more effectively in the activities of the association.

The new mobile application provides easy access to information on the business environment in Ghana and a platform for both members and non-members of the AGI to communicate on upcoming events.

It was developed by Innoactive, a German-based technology firm. The application is available only on android devices.

Speaking at the launch in Accra yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AGI, Mr Seth Twum-Akwaboah, said the initiative was to create a direct platform for interested individuals and entities to access current and relevant information about the business community in the country.

“AGI believes this initiative is an effective tool and a one-stop shop for busy business people who are hardly able to search business information from various sources,” he said.

Mr Twum-Akwaboah said the mobile application would also enhance communication between AGI and its business executives.

“One distinctive feature about this App is that one could easily confirm his or her participation in an event.”

A technology consultant with Innoactive, Mr Daniel Schmidt-Loebe, said the mobile App had also been designed to protect every information sent into it.

Partnership

The President of AGI, Mr James Asare-Adjei, said over the past six years AGI had been in partnership with the Federation of German Associations (BDI) to boost businesses between the two countries.

He said through that partnership many companies in Germany had expressed interest in investing in the country and expressed optimism that some of them would materialise in due course.
