Akufo-Addo's 7th COVID Address postponed to 9pm today

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's seventh Coronavirus update has been postponed to 9 pm tonight - Sunday, April 19, 2020.

The address on new measures the government is taking to contain the novel Coronavirus was initially scheduled for 8 pm tonight but the state broadcaster - Ghana Television (GTV) - which was scheduled to televise it has announced that it will now begin an hour later at 9 pm.

It is expected that the address from the Jubilee House will address speculation about the duration and extent of the lockdown.

Ghana Coronavirus case count

Ghana’s Coronavirus case count rose to 834 on Saturday, an increase of 193 new cases and the highest jump in the recording of new cases by the Ghana Health Service.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) said the new development was mainly due to the enhanced contact-tracing and testing process which is ongoing.
