Apostolic Church resources Ashan Orphanage
The Oforikrom Assembly of the Apostolic Church has presented food items and toiletries and a cheque for GH¢3,000 to resource the Ashan Children’s Home at Denase in the Afigya Kwabre District of Ashanti Region.
The Presiding Elder, Mr Sampson Wiredu, who made the presentation, said it formed part of the church’s association with the home for the past six years.
He said the church had adopted the home in order to contribute its quota for the less advantaged in society.
To him, just as the Bible endorses philanthropy, the church could not sit on the fence and watch inmates of the home heave heavy sighs.
He disclosed that the church had built a 12-seater modern toilet facility for the home not only to support the needy, but to support proper sanitation.
He, however, called on other churches and members of the public to come to the aid of the home.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Home, Nana Boafuor Konadu Yiadom, who received the items, expressed gratitude to the church and urged other philantropic organisations to come to their aid.
