The Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has strongly denied allegations that he authorized payment to former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, for a government contract.
In a statement shared on X on February 23, 2025, Dr. Forson clarified that since assuming office, no payments had been made to any contractor.
He stressed that his office is currently reviewing all payment requests related to government contracts signed under the previous Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.
“Since I took office, no contractor—including Kennedy Agyapong—has been paid a pesewa. We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy,” Dr. Forson stated.

He further urged the public to dismiss any reports suggesting he had approved such payments.
“Please disregard any claims suggesting that I have authorized payment to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor,” he concluded.
