Bernard brings hope to the Village of Hope Orphanage

It was a moment of joy for the children of Village of Hope Orphanage at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region when gospel artiste, Bernard Amankwah, and his ministry, His Presence Ministry, donated some items to the home.

The donation, according to the artiste, was in line with his ministry’s commitment to assist the underprivileged in the society.

Presenting the items which included Special Ice Drinking Water, Emolink Washing Powder, Yazz  and Roxx Washing Powder, Bags of Rice, clothing, a public address  system and an organ, Mr Bernard Amankwah said the donation was his “widow’s mite” to the orphanage.

According to him, he was touched to initiate such a gesture last year when he accompanied a friend to make a donation to the home.

“When I came to the orphanage last year, I was impressed with the management of the home and thought I could also help in my own way to give these needy children a better life. That thought translated into a desire which I have accomplished today.

“It’s my prayer that these things will help to give a better life to these children,” he noted.

The Director of the Orphanage, Mr Kwaku Sarkodie, who received the items, expressed his appreciation to Bernard and his team for the “kind thought”.

For Mr Sarkodie, the donation was a gesture that would put smiles on the faces of the children and prayed for God’s blessings and guidance for the donors.

He also used the opportunity to appeal to other individuals and corporate organisations to come to the aid of the home since its survival depended on the public’s support.

Since its establishment in 1992 by the Church of Christ, the Village of Hope Orphanage has  served as home for many needy children in the country and beyond.
