Birim Central Municipal Assembly extends support to Community 6
The Birim Central Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region is constructing two bridges at Community 6, a suburb of Akyem Oda. The bridges are being constructed to eliminate the difficulties the people in the community have in moving to other parts of the municipality and vice versa.

So far, work on one of the bridges has reached an advanced stage, while that on the other is progressing steadily.
The two projects estimated to cost about GH¢48,000 were funded from the assembly’s share of the Districts Development Facility (DDF). Samotrust Company Limited, an Accra-based construction firm, is the contractor working on the projects.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central, Mr Kwabena Nkansah Asare, and the Municipal Engineer, Mr Alex Tetteh, have inspected work on the two projects.
The MCE commended the contractor for the extent of work. He said it was the policy of the municipal assembly to provide the municipality with projects it was capable of undertaking successfully.
Mr Nkansah-Asare urged the people in the municipality to support the assembly and the government in their efforts to speed up development of the municipality.
The works foreman of Samotrust Company Limited, Mr Gideon Dumio, promised that the two projects would be completed on schedule.
