CARE Ghana honours James Owusu Boateng for 25 years of service
CARE Ghana has recognised long-serving staff member James Owusu Boateng for his 25 years of service, highlighting his unwavering commitment and reliability since joining the organisation in 2000.
A driver based at the Kumasi sub-office, James has played a critical support role in facilitating the organisation’s fieldwork across various project sites in remote parts of the country.
The celebration, held to acknowledge staff contributions, saw Mr Owusu Boateng commended for his calm demeanour, professionalism, and extensive knowledge of project locations and logistical operations. His colleagues described him as dependable and integral to the success of CARE Ghana’s outreach and implementation efforts over the years.
CARE Ghana’s Country Director, Michael Alandu, paid glowing tribute to James during the event. “James is someone who shows up, gets the work done, and carries himself with humility. These are the people who keep our work moving, and we’re grateful for their contribution over the years,” he said.
In appreciation of his service, James was presented with a cheque of $2,000, a citation, and items valued at $500. Responding to the honour, he expressed his gratitude to CARE Ghana and his colleagues for the opportunity to contribute to the organisation’s mission. “CARE has been a big part of my life. I’m thankful for the journey and for all the people I’ve worked with,” he said.
The occasion also marked the retirement of Mr Benjamin Appiah, who served for 27 years from the Accra office. He was recognised for his steady commitment and invaluable contributions throughout his career.
In addition to the special recognitions, CARE Ghana celebrated staff who had reached 5, 10, and 15-year service milestones.
