Central Region Police move to secure Kasoa-Cape Coast highway
The Central Regional Police Commander, COP Paul Manly Awini, says the police are adopting measures to ensure safety and maximum security along the Kasoa - Cape Coast highway especially during the festive season.
This follows a robbery attack at Gomoa Potsin along the Kasoa-Winneba highway in the Central Region Thursday night.
Occupants of vehicles both private and commercial were ordered to stop by the robbers who were reportedly posing as police officers on duty.

Those who failed to stop had the glasses of their vehicles vandalised by the robbers while those who could not give them money were also subjected to severe beatings. The robbers managed to escape after robbing the passengers of their properties and other valuable items.
Speaking to the media on Friday, December 13, COP Paul Awini said the police have identified some loopholes that were exploited by the robbers to carry out their actions. He said the police have therefore together with Unit Commanders of the Kasoa Divisional Police rolled out immediate law and security measures to help prevent the recurrence of the incident.
According to COP Awini, two of the victims who were hit in the head sustained serious injuries and are on admission at the Bereku health centre.
He said no arrests had been made yet but the police were working hard to bring the perpetrators to book.
