COVID-19: Case count surges past 9,000 with 5,669 active cases
Ghana's Coronavirus case count increased to 9,168 on Friday.
An update by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) indicated that the country now has 5,669 active cases, 3,457 recoveries and 42 deaths.
The increase in cases implies that (283) new infections have been detected since the last GHS update on June 4.

Recoveries from the illness also increased by 268 new persons to 3,457 while four more persons have died increasing the death toll to 42.
Regional breakdown
The Greater Accra Region has the highest number of infections in the country with 6,205 cases, followed by the Ashanti and Western Regions with 1,518 and 519 cases respectively.
