Drug kingpin nabbed at Ashaiman
The leader of a drug peddling gang in the Ashaiman metropolis, Daniel Purigah, also known as “Hollywood”, was last Tuesday arrested in a police swoop at a neighborhood called Spider Toilet.
The 28-year-old was arrested with his cohorts Musah Mohammed also known as “Cobra”, 31, Yabaah Barigah, 24, Hussein Fuseini, 24, and Ishmael Adukornu 21 at about 4pm for trading in illegal narcotic drugs.

The swoop conducted by a team of policemen led by the Ashaiman Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Fleance Adikah, was part of an exercise by the police to rid the metropolis of drug peddlers.
Briefing The Ghanaian Times, the Ashaiman District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), disclosed that items found on the suspects included 169 wrappers of cocaine, 30 cocaine stones, parcels of Indian Hemp, 50 wrappers of Indian Hemp, one compressed slab of Indian hemp, 500 tablets of Nitrazepan tablets, a charm, GH¢748 and four unregistered motor bikes.
The Police had earlier arrested three suspects George Agyepong alias Shaka, Eric Tetteh and Mohammed Awal in a swoop and upon interrogation they disclosed that the leader of the gang is “Hollywood”.
DSP Tay said the five were in Police custody while the investigation continues. He revealed that the war against drug peddlers would continue until all individuals involved in the drug business were arrested and prosecuted.
