The expansion programme is being financed from internally generated funds of the company with support from the World Bank.

Speaking at a media interaction in Kumasi, the Managing Director of the ECG, Rev. William Hutton-Mensah, said the company had built a second Bulk Supply Point at Anwomanso as part of efforts to improve service.

That supply point, he said, would service customers in the eastern parts of the region, including towns such as Ejisu-Juaben, Effiduase, Agona, Mampong and their environs and reduce the pressure on the supply point at Ridge and improve on power supply to consumers in that part of the region.

Besides, he said the company was also expanding its primary substation at Barekese to enable the dam to have stable and reliable power supply to pump water to residents
