Fiaga of Aflao attends SMEs confab in San Marino

The Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, Torgbi Adzongaga Amenya Fiti V, is attending the world conference on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Republic of San Marino in Italy.

He is attending the conference at the invitation of the President of the Republic of the World Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (WUSME), Mr Gian Franco Terenzi.

He is accompanied by his chief of staff, Torgbi Gobah Tengey.

In a pre-departure interview with the Daily Graphic, Torgbi Fiti said he would deliver a speech on SMEs in Ghana at the conference.

He said he would highlight the growth, prospects and challenges facing SMEs in Ghana.

Torgbi Fiti said his aim was to market Ghana to the world and attract investments to the country, especially to the Volta Region.

He said Ghana's SMEs had significant potential which needed to be supported with the needed funds to grow.

Therefore, he said, increased investment in the SMEs would grow the sector and create more jobs for the teeming youth.

Torgbi Fiti said he would use his presence in San Marino to hold meetings with citizens of Aflao resident in Italy, Germany, Holland and Belgium.

He said the meetings were to encourage the Aflao citizens to increase their support towards the growth of the area.

Torgbi Fiti said he would urge the Aflao citizens to participate in the Aflao homecoming summit meant to raise funds in support of the Aflao Education Trust Fund.

The homecoming, he said, would discuss how to seek investments for Aflao.
