“We are encouraged as a foundation that the scholarship scheme has impacted positively on the lives of the beneficiaries and is helping them to really perform well,” he said.

However, Mr Awuni said, it was important for the beneficiaries to not only focus on getting their certificates but also work on their character, develop the entrepreneurial spirit and become change agents in the society.

“It is not how much you achieve but how much you impact the lives of people in the society. Stick to the truth at all times and leave a mark in the society. Be law abiding, be selfless, and be patriotic,” he advised.

Mr Awuni also assured the college of the foundation’s commitment to continually support the development of the agric sector in the country.

Dean of School of Agriculture

In his address, the Dean of the School of Agriculture, Professor John Ofosu Anim, lauded the foundation for its support to the school and the students in general.

He said since the 2004/2005 academic year, the foundation had supported 45 undergraduate students of the school and after a number of discussions, five of the graduate students since 2010/2011 academic year had also benefited.

Professor Anim, therefore, called on the students to make good use of the opportunity given them and excel in their areas of endeavour.
