The Peki Fire Station responded to two separate emergency incidents at Ayensu and Asikuma Zongo in the Volta Region on May 13, the Ghana National Fire Service has said.
Vehicular accident
Firefighters attended to a vehicular accident involving a SINO tipper truck along the Peki–Asikuma Road. Two male victims were successfully rescued after the crew arrived promptly at the scene.
Domestic fire outbreak
Later in the day, the crew responded to a domestic fire outbreak at Asikuma Zongo, where a three-bedroom thatch-roofed house was engulfed in flames. Firefighters managed to confine and extinguish the blaze in time, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
