Reneta Senyo Delali was said to have made away with sales she made at the fuel station.

Though she pleaded not guilty when she appeared before the Amasaman District Court A and was granted bail in the sum of GH¢ 5,000, the court found her guilty after full trial.

Delali was sentenced to a fine of 200 penalty units, equivalent to GH¢ 2,400.

However, if she fails to pay, she will serve six months in prison.

The facts of the case as presented to the court by the Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Kofi Annan, were that the complainant in the case is Peter Anomah, the Manager of Goil fuel station at Kutunse in the Greater Accra Region, while Delali is a fuel attendant at the same fuel station.

The prosecutor said Mr Anomah had earlier organised a meeting, warning all the fuel attendants at the station not to go out with sales made, especially when they hadn’t rendered account to him.

At about 9:30 p.m. on January 15, 2015, Delali left the fuel station with sales of GH¢ 5,380 without the knowledge of the manager.

The prosecutor said upon her return, she told the manager that she went out with the sales to eat but was attacked by armed robbers who took away the money.

The manager did not believe her, so he asked why she did not render accounts before going but she did not give any tangible answer.

The prosecutor said Mr Anomah escorted Delali to the police station and made a report.
