Ga Central holds accountability forum

Residents of Anti-Aku, Awoshie and Suwotuom in the Ga Central Municipality have expressed grave concern over the inadequate provision of social amenities in the municipality.

Some of them who spoke to the Daily Graphic mentioned amenities the area lacked to include drainage systems, places of convenience and proper waste disposal sites.

The concerns were raised at a Community Accountability Forum held under the auspices of the Ghana-Netherlands Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Programme and organised by Hope for Future Generations, together with Simavi, both non-governmental organisations (NGOs), in Accra last Thursday. It was attended by assembly members, students, service providers and residents.

The programme aimed at giving members of the communities the opportunity to voice out their concerns so that the municipal assembly would take notice and find solutions to them.
