2 Pharmaceutical companies support Graphic health screening

Two pharmaceutical companies have donated drugs valued at GH¢16,365.90 to the Graphic Communications Group Ltd. (GCGL) in support of this year’s free health screening.

This year’s screening will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Graphic Clinic, opposite the Roxy Cinema, Adabraka.

The screening forms part of GCGL’s community-focused initiative designed to promote preventive healthcare and social support for the public.

The companies, Danpong Healthcare and BlissGVS, said the donation formed part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).

This year’s partners for the screening are Gokals Healthy Optionz (eyes), Serepa Dental Clinic (dentistry) and SYNLAB Ghana (laboratory services).

An Assistant Corporate Communications Officer of GCGL, Yvonne Dasoberi, received the health products on behalf of the company at separate venues.

This year’s exercise is expected to attract more than 500 residents, with services covering Malaria, Common Cold, Eye Problems, Hypertension, Typhoid Fever, among others.

BlissGVS

The Country Manager of BlissGVS, Vivek Patil, said the donation was driven by the company’s strong commitment to the betterment of Ghanaians, particularly those who did not have easy access to essential medicines.

“We believe that healthcare is a basic human right, and we recognise that many individuals and communities face financial and logistical barriers when it comes to accessing quality medical care.

Through this donation, we aim to bridge that gap by making critical medicines available to the most vulnerable,” he said.

Mr Patil said that the total value of BlissGVS’s contribution was GH¢6,365.90, adding that the products included a wide range of essential medicines critical for treating common and chronic illnesses.

According to him, the gesture was not a one-time activity but part of a broader, long-term commitment to improving healthcare in the country.

“Going forward, we plan to deepen our partnerships with both public and private health stakeholders to identify more areas where we can make a meaningful impact. Ultimately, our goal is to build a sustainable model of support,” he said.

Danpong Healthcare

The Public Relations Officer of Danpong Healthcare, Esther Mamle Tetteh, said the company donated products worth GH¢10,000 as part of its community support initiatives.

“When we received the letter from your team concerning the event, we felt it was of goodwill and a good thing to participate in as a Ghanaian-owned company.

One of the core things we have decided as a team to push this year is community support, and we believe this is one of the ways to contribute to public wellness,” she said.

She added that Danpong Healthcare was open to extending similar support to other institutions that would reach out to it for support.

Preventive care

The Graphic Annual Free Health Screening has over the years provided residents of Adabraka and beyond the opportunity to access medical care at no cost.

Medical doctors and healthcare professionals are available to provide consultation and treatment for common illnesses, while partner organisations bring specialist services in dentistry, eye care and laboratory testing.

The initiative encourages people to undergo routine checks, and helps in the early detection of conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol which can be managed more effectively when diagnosed early.

For many residents, the event also reduces the financial burden of seeking medical care, especially for vulnerable groups who may not have access to regular health services.
