ASA Savings and Loans Limited supports Atua Govt Hospital

The ASA Savings and Loans Limited, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, has presented medical items to support and enhance the work of the Atua Government Hospital in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region.

The items donated included suction machines, six glucometers with stripes, blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters, stethoscopes, a BP monitor and adapters.

Presenting the items to the management of the hospital on Thursday, the Madina Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans Limited, Eugene Owusu Bindy, said the donation to the health facility was part of the organisation's corporate social responsibility to help achieve Sustainable Development Goal Three.

He stressed that besides the granting of loans to the clients, it also periodically undertakes free medical screening, donations to public schools and health facilities, educational support to brilliant, needy students and environmental awareness, among others.

Mr Biney thanked the management of the hospital for allowing them to donate the items to the hospital, which would go a long way in treating patients at the hospital.

He, however, entreated management to ensure the items donated were put to good use to serve the main purpose of the donation.

Clients

Mr Biney asked traders in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality to patronise the bank in order to access loan facilities to support, push and boost their trading activities to grow.

The Sustainability Manager of ASA Savings and Loans Limited, Richard Natey, said one of the main objectives of the organisation was to improve the plight of poor households and the vulnerable in society by supporting businesses and, therefore, urged serious business operators to work with them.

The Head of Administration of the Atua Government Hospital, Vincent Tameklo, who received the items on behalf of management, expressed profound gratitude to the benefactors for the donation, which would go a long way in solving some of their challenges in treating clients and also enhancing service delivery.

Mr Tameklo said the hospital, which is 49 years old, needed some sort of upliftment, infrastructure-wise, as well as renovation and advanced equipment.

He mentioned advanced equipment, such as a CT scan and a chemistry analyser, as some of the pressing needs of the hospital. He, therefore, seized the opportunity and appealed to benevolent individuals and organisations to come to the aid of the health facility.

Two clients of ASA Savings and Loans Limited, Emma Ekomersuor and Jennifer Senakey, who spoke to the Daily Graphic at the event, lauded the organisation for the good and cordial working relationship with its customers, provided the customers worked with the rules and regulations guiding the loans and services.
