Ride-hailing platform Bolt has rewarded 20 of its drivers and riders for their outstanding professionalism and contribution to the platform.
The high-performing Bolt driver-partners were rewarded with household appliances, including televisions, microwaves, air conditioners, washing machines and chest freezers, fuel vouchers among others to support their day-to-day activities.
The items were handed over to them at a brief ceremony at the Bolt Head Office in Accra.
The recognition programme forms part of Bolt’s efforts to strengthen engagement with driver-partners and acknowledge the important role they play in connecting people to opportunities, work and essential services every day.
The Senior General Manager for West Africa at Bolt, Teddy Appah-Dankyi, explained that the initiative highlighted Bolt's broader focus on driver welfare, as the company continues to invest in measures designed to improve the driver experience, including safety initiatives, training programmes and access to benefits that support drivers both on and off the road.
“Our driver-partners are at the heart of everything we do.
Their commitment, professionalism and hard work help make reliable transportation possible for thousands of people every day,” he said,
The initiative, he said, was an opportunity to recognise the efforts of both drivers and riders and show the company’s appreciation for the value they brought to the platform.
“We believe that supporting drivers should go beyond the trips completed on the platform. It is important to create opportunities that positively impact their lives and those of their families.
“Recognising outstanding performance is one of the ways we continue to build a stronger and more rewarding experience for our driver-partners,” Mr Appah-Dankyi added.
Gratitude
Davis Kobbson Afealetey, one of the top drivers who received a television set, expressed gratitude to the ride-hailing platform for recognising his contributions.
“I set out to drive for fun, but my hard work has been rewarded,” Mr Afealetey, who has contributed to the platform as a driver for two years, said.
